New methods of analysing drug – drug interactions and side effects: David Haworth

I was very dubious at the start of this TED talk by Russ Altman.

The guy is a computer data boffin and analyst and claims to find problems with drug combinations by studing all the reported data available to him from various sources.

Entertaining and thought provoking , if you have 16 mins its a good watch. He did find results with his data and a potential new monitoring method for drug side effects and interactions.

Pharmacy breaking the law

Just saw posts on facebook re travel sickness and one recommended a certain local pharmacy who sold her Nausetil forthis purpose.

So its S3 for migraine nausea and S4 for anything else.

What should I do?

Ring them or dob them.

They will probably deny it.

I agree that the wheels are off at the moment but please be patient. I am ssured that it will be cared for and developed. Many at APP voiced their opinion and gave great feedback. Please hang in there and do keep telling AJP what does not work.

Hang in there.

While many of you were watching Charlie Pickering at 8:30 last Wednesday night the programmer and testers were hard at it.

Re: Qld Arthritis seminar: Bill Arnold

On Friday last week a group of accredited and hospital pharmacists attended the Arthritis Qld seminars in Brisbane at Royal Womens. The speakers were excellent, the format was great, catering and access and parking and all those little things worked a treat.

The content and the calibre of the presentations was excellent. If you have a chance to attend any of these presentations please think about it. The price was not high.

Some years ago and for several years I attended the Thursday lunch talk at Royal Canberra. A mixture of Hospital and community doctors, some nurses and me. I had been invited to attend by a GP friend.

Learnt lots, made extremely beneficial contacts.

Change in Hospital Admin. End of story.

We have people here who could set up a newsgroup server in a day. AJP it’s time to flog your programmers, load them up with Red Bull and quatro espressi and just do it…

Good morning…

Deep Coat assures me that the new forum is well into development and he is pleased with the functionality and easy of use over mobile and PC platforms. Bugs with different browsers and display issues are being ironed out and he tells me the new forum will be vastly superior to the old one.

Beta testing is well underway and he assures me we will have our forum back sooner than later.

Phew!

Peter,

I too was around in the bulletinboard days.

I don’t recall Auspharm emerging bright shiny and perfect one day one.

I too will be much happier as the product settles down and improves, but please give them a little lead time.

After which I will be pleased with the result, or load up the rockets.

But not quite yet. OK ?
