    There is a large proportion of people who don’t understand that suppression therapy does not affect current acid present in the stomach –> ie if you have heartburn right now, you need a neutralising agent.

    Taking PPI therapy in a manner than maximises plasma levels around the main meal is also important – you want to prevent the release of acid with a PPI. It’s funny how often giving advice on the timing of a dose will lead to improved treatment.
