recent HMR I put a lot of work into demonstrating to the GP that the patient would benefit from the correct doses of their existing medication ( non opioid) plus exercise plus daily living aids such as hand rails on steps plus swimming and physio. Patients was on side with what I suggested. went to see the practice nurse and GP and explained my reasoning. I was the appointment before the patient. Patient came out with no changes to current medication that is sub optimal and a new authority for Norspan patches. They have fibromyalgia and do not need opioids. Came close to losing my cool with the GP who is hell bent on opioid prescribing for everything pain related. This is lazy medicine.
