We sat down with Beata Silber to talk about the latest launch from Swisse Nutra+.

Beata is the Global R&D and Innovation Director at H&H Group.

She completed her PhD in Neurocognition and was granted a prestigious European Marie Curie Post Doc Fellowship in France. Following this, she has gained extensive global industry experience in research & development across the FMCG and Nutrition and Health sectors.

Can you tell us about Swisse Nutra+?

Swisse Nutra+ is an innovative new range of practitioner only nutraceuticals. Backed by research and evidence, we’ve developed specifically designed formulas to target a range of consumer health needs.

Why is joint pain and osteoarthritis a focus for Swisse Nutra+?

There are a number of reasons we see joint pain as an important issue to address. Musculo-skeletal issues are the second most common health issue managed by GPs in Australia and can have a profound effect on your quality of life. Osteoarthritis is the most common chronic joint condition and a leading cause of pain, disability and early retirement, affecting over 2.2 million people.

How did you come up with the formulation for Swisse Nutra+ Joint Pain Complex?

We have a talented and dedicated research and development team at Swisse, who scope and review clinical data and evidence for new ingredients and therapeutic levels. The team are all tertiary qualified and experienced at conducting literature reviews. For this product we specifically searched for highly efficacious and innovative ingredient combinations that were not currently being offered on the market.

Which ingredients have been chosen to include and why?

Swisse Nutra+ Joint Pain Complex contains a unique combination of eggshell membrane (NEM) powder and 5-LoxinTM boswellia serrata extract.

Both of these ingredients can play a role in maintaining healthy joints.

5-LoxinTM boswellia serrata helps relieve symptoms associated with mild osteoarthritis (OA) such as mild joint pain and soreness.

Eggshell membrane is rich in components of collagen, glucosamine and chondroitin as well as three varieties of collagen. What is also exciting about this formulation is that we are sourcing sustainable ingredients derived from eggshell waste.
