Webinars – the latest approach to multi-disciplinary CPD

Webinars are increasingly popular as an effective way to take part in an educational activity. NPS Medicinewise have recently hosted several successful webinars where GPs, pharmacists, nurses and other health professionals have joined a panel of experts as they discuss challenges in diagnosis, treatment and management of different health conditions.

As with all NPS Medicinewise education activities, content is independent and based on the latest evidence and guidelines.

Their most recent topic, Anxiety Disorders: use of evidence-based treatments, discussed how early recognition, assessment and diagnosis is important for good management and contributes to speedier treatment and improvement in the lives of people with anxiety disorders.

It’s been shown that a collaborative approach between health professionals and their patients with an anxiety disorder can increase engagement and persistence with treatment and deliver better outcomes. To discuss the benefits of taking a holistic approach, the expert panel for this webinar included a GP, a psychiatrist and a psychologist.

Around 2,000 pharmacists have already participated in one of these webinars – either the live event, or an on-demand recording – and appreciated the opportunity to hear the views of experts in different fields. Each webinar qualifies as an hour of self-recorded CPD, with completion certificates available on request.
