Pharmacy Connect 2021 postponed due to COVID-19

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia has announced that, due to the on-going COVID-19 outbreak and extended lockdown in New South Wales, Pharmacy Connect 2021 is being postponed.

The event will now be held on 1-3 September 2022.

However, because of the COVID 100% refund guarantee in place, registrations can be transferred to the 2022 conference or refunded in full.

David Heffernan, NSW Guild Branch president, said that while challenging, the decision was the correct one as it puts the health and welfare of the participants and exhibitors “front and centre”.

“New South Wales community pharmacies are currently fighting hard on the frontline of a COVID-19 outbreak that is unfortunately very close to home. They are focusing on what matters most – the health and safety of their patients,” Mr Heffernan said.

“Postponing Pharmacy Connect was a tough decision to make. This is the second year in a row that COVID-19 has prevented us from being able to meet safely as an industry at this event.”

“However, because of the learnings from last year, we had put in place a COVID 100% refund guarantee to ensure that no attendees would be out-of-pocket,” he added.

Pharmacy Connect attendees, who can now receive a full refund or transfer their registration to next year’s event, will be contacted by Guild events. For any queries email events@qldguild.org.au or phone 07 3831 3788.
