TGA green lights cefaclor substitution

An unexpected increase in demand for oral liquid preparations of cefaclor have prompted the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) to issue a Serious Scarcity Substitution Instrument (SSSI) for the medication  Pharmacists are being authorised to use their professional judgment to provide an alternative strength of cefaclor oral liquid, when the prescribed medication is not available.
