Forum: flu vaccine reflections

Doctor making insulin or flu vaccination shot by syringe to a young woman

As the ‘flu vaccination season starts drawing to an end, here are some reflections:

  1. Not enough quadrivalent
  2. Punters don’t want trivalent
  3. GPs respond to competitive pressure by advertising and running extra clinics at similar pricing to pharmacies
  4. (In NSW at least) pharmacists have to jump more hurdles than any other vaccinator
  5. Nevertheless, pharmacy vaccination is popular and worthwhile
  6. Price is not such an issue
  7. (Guessing) more people were vaccinated this year than ever and …
  8. … manufacturers underestimated demand (for quadrivalent especially)
