“I am unsure of why it takes 1 month and 2 checking processes to approve HMR claim payments. If there a legislated requirement to process these claims entirely in person?
The data could be validated when being entered and then verified against medicare data seconds later. We could have response in the time it takes to refresh a webpage. Instead it takes about 2 weeks for someone to call about an incorrect medicare number. You just have to hope the boss doesn’t mind taking calls during work hours or you aren’t busy with a patient/customer.
It would save both the claiming pharmacist and the claim processing team a lot of time if data entry errors were caught at the time of data entry. This would allow for faster payment of claims and better cash flow for pharmacists/pharmacies trying to make a living from providing these services.”
