“My feelings about electronic health records are mixed.
I have worked in a restructured hospital overseas in Singapore where EHR is years ahead of this country.
With more information, there is increased expectation of the pharmacist. Not necessarily a bad thing. Yet most pharmacies here simply aren’t prepared for the extra responsibility.
Supplying a patient with diclofenac, for example, or even augmentin duo forte, ciprofloxacin will require pharmacists to check renal function. Simply assuming a person’s renal function is fine is not ok……”
