Pharmacy group congratulated for raising $50k for Starlight Children’s Foundation

Wizard Pharmacy has been congratulated by the Starlight Children’s Foundation after donating $50,000 to the foundation’ Christmas fundraising drive.

Wizard launched their Starlight Giving Tree campaign in all their pharmacies to celebrate their ten-year strong partnership with Starlight, with the initial goal being $20,000.

The $50,000 donation will give 500 children access to the Starlight Express Room at the Perth Children’s Hospital for the duration of their hospital stay, connect another 130 teens to Starlight’s peer support online network Livewire, and will grant at least two positively life-impacting Starlight wishes.

Wizard Pharmacy matched all customer donations up until $10,000.

Starlight Children’s Foundation State Partnerships Manager Valerie Deal said that the Wizard’s Starlight Giving Tree campaign had been a resounding success.

“Our gratitude for the efforts of Wizard Pharmacies across the state of Western Australia can’t be put into words, but what we do want to acknowledge, is that the tenth year of support from Wizard Pharmacies for Starlight Children’s Foundation, is one to remember.

“At Starlight, we must continue to deliver fun, joy and laughter every day of the year, and Wizard have generously played a significant role in helping us throughout 2020,” she said.

Wizard Pharmacy Chief Executive Officer Lyndon Dyson said that after the tough year everyone had, it was very important that Wizard Pharmacy give back and do their part in bringing the joy and magic back into Christmas.

“Our partnership with the Starlight Children’s Foundation is one we all hold very close to our hearts, so it meant a lot to the entire Wizard family across our network that we could rally together and do something very special for them.

I am overwhelmed by the generosity of our local WA community, and hope they feel proud of the difference they have made to the lives of sick children, young people and their families this Christmas,” he said.
