TWC, Chemmart launch big new pharmacy brand

Terry White and Chemmart have announced that all pharmacies within the merged group’s approximately 500-strong network will migrate to operate under a single retail pharmacy brand, TerryWhite Chemmart.

The new brand follows shareholder approval of the merger and signals the group’s commitment to leverage the combined capabilities of its respective pharmacy networks to create a highly accessible offering for the delivery of leading frontline healthcare to Australian customers, it says.

Terry White Group Chief Executive Officer Anthony White says the new retail name builds upon the existing brand equity of the pharmacies within the network and supported the future direction of the group.

“Both brands have a strong heritage and high levels of consumer awareness, which is why the new retail brand retains and leverages these valuable characteristics,” says White.

“The new brand, TerryWhite Chemmart is underpinned by the values that customers of the pharmacies within the merged group have come to expect including value for money, trusted health advice and the delivery of frontline health services.

“Our new brand is just the start of an exciting journey ahead for our members and customers.”

The first store to display the new TerryWhite Chemmart brand is now open and is located on Glenferrie Road in Melbourne’s inner-east suburb of Hawthorn.

The conversion to the new brand for the combined network is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.

    gutted here too, ‘CLICKBAIT”!

Even less chance to have the owner’s name incorporated into the trading name. Might be good for “the brand” but surely removing the personal from pharmacy is only leading us to a time when Colesworth can open a “Perry Black” store next door and have people in there as pharmacy becomes a generic offering with no personality differences store to store.

The name really is a mouth full and will probably revert to ‘Terry White’ in time; I really wish the Ego’s could be dropped and give us a snappy unambiguous branding for the modern age.

Two crappy brands, combine to make an even crappier brand. Whatever will they come up with next!
