The Pharmacy Guild of Australia has acknowledged the sad passing of its distinguished and much-loved colleague Ann Dalton.
Ann Dalton served the Guild in a range of senior roles for 15 years, most recently as its Group Executive Engagement and Advocacy, until diagnosed with brain cancer in early 2015.
Ann previously served as Director of Government Relations and Policy, Director of Quality Care and in roles with the ACT Branch of the Guild.
The Executive Director of the Guild, David Quilty, paid tribute to Ann Dalton’s extensive career with the Guild and contribution to community pharmacy.
“Ann’s passion for and commitment to community pharmacy was unparalleled. She never stopped advocating for proper recognition of the vital role community pharmacies play in our health system.
“The Ask Your Pharmacist brand, both in its original and revamped forms, is a lasting testament to her commitment to the cause.
“Ann had an incredibly positive demeanour – a mentor and a true friend to so many people across the entire Guild,” Quilty says.
The National President of the Guild, George Tambassis, also paid tribute to Ann Dalton: “She was a woman of great gusto and professionalism and we will all miss her.”
Ann passed away yesterday, 13 September, in Canberra, surrounded by her husband Martin and loving family. She was 53. Arrangements for Ann’s funeral in Canberra will be advised.
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia supports the work of the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, and encourages all those who mourn the loss of Ann Dalton to support the Foundation’s vital research.
