WA Health Minister has shared his reason for being vaccinated against COVID-19, participating in Wizard Pharmacy’s campaign
Wizard Pharmacy’s #whatsyourreason campaign has seen community members sharing their reasons for getting the COVID jab to encourage others to do the same.
The Honourable Roger Cook MLA, Deputy Premier and WA Health Minister, and Ms Ali Kent, Member for Kalgoorlie, joined Wizard Pharmacy Kalgoorlie owner Elise Wheadon to share their reasons.
In the regional Goldfields area of WA, only 49% of eligible residents have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
“We hope that offering Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccinations through community pharmacy, with walk-in appointments available, will provide the community with a convenient alternative to boost these figures,” said a Wizard spokesperson.
Meanwhile, the banner group has also partnered with on-demand health services app Packapill to bring pharmacy deliveries to the Perth community in under three hours.
Packapill is an Australian digital platform connecting patients to their local pharmacy and facilitating pharmaceutical delivery services in the Perth Metropolitan area for a $4.99 flat delivery fee.
The Packapill app allows patients to send a photo of their prescription or add their ePrescription (SMS token) and send it through to their preferred Wizard Pharmacy for dispensing and delivery within three hours or Click & Collect within 30 minutes.
Wizard Pharmacy Chief Operating Officer Sally Parker said that the ability to deliver prescription medication to patients at home swiftly is now an essential service for pharmacies to offer their community.
“From those who are time-poor to those confined to their homes due to sickness or COVID-19 restrictions, the ability to conveniently order and receive your medication at home in under three hours is a service we are proud to provide for our customers and patients.
“Feedback received during the trial was extremely positive. The service received from Packapill was fantastic and gave us every confidence our patient’s medication was being delivered to our delivery safety standards, whilst simultaneously providing our pharmacy team with a simple and seamless system to use,” said Ms Parker.
