‘Any additional capacity’ in pharmacy needed to combat overdose


Unintentional overdose deaths involving benzodiazepines continue to rise, as one expert points out the vital preventive role pharmacists play The Penington Institute has revealed that in 2022, there were 2,356 drug-induced deaths in Australia – equating to around six deaths a day, and again far exceeding the road toll (which was 1,276 people in 2022).
