Lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol is crucial for reducing the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and subsequent cardiovascular events. Pharmacists play a significant role in managing this by promoting adherence to lipid-lowering therapies and counselling patients on new and emerging treatment options.
