Pharmacists all around the world got together—on social media or at the FIP conference in Abu Dhabi—to showcase the profession and celebrate their day
International Pharmaceutical Federation president Dominique Jordan recorded a message for all members of the profession.
“FIP represents four million pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists and pharmacy educators globally,” he said.
“‘Safe and effective medicines for all’, is our theme for World Pharmacists Day this year.
“It highlights our profession’s crucial role in safeguarding patient safety through improving medicines use, and reducing medication errors.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, my colleagues in all fields of the profession, from the bottom of my heart, for your continued efforts in making sure our communities benefit from access to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and pharmaceutical care.
“I hope you are joining me in celebrating our profession today. Happy World Pharmacists Day! Long live pharmacy; long live FIP.”
Here’s how pharmacists around the world celebrated, with music, cupcake and videos highlighting the importance of pharmacists’ work:
