A police dog helped track down a thief after a break-in at a local pharmacy

A man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a pharmacy at Marion, South Australia late last week.

Just before 3am on Friday 18 June, police were called to a pharmacy on Marion Road after an alarm activation.

On arrival, police noticed the front glass sliding door was smashed and saw a man exiting the building, however the man ran off and police lost sight of him.

Police Dog Zac was called in to assist with the search.

It only took Police Dog Zac about 15 minutes to locate the offender hiding, where he was arrested without incident.

Police reports suggest the man had allegedly stolen money from the pharmacy till.

A 41-year-old man was charged with serious criminal trespass and theft.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court.
