Kidney program wins public health award

Amcal’s Kidney Health Assessment program has been awarded the title of Best Public Health Initiative

The award was presented at the annual Prime Awards at a ceremony in Sydney.

The Prime Awards are an awards program designed to recognise and reward excellence within healthcare communications and its impact on the community.

This award was shared by both Amcal and Naked Communications.

Amcal’s Kidney Health Assessment program includes a KidneyCheck screening test, which is a quick and easy way for consumers to check for one of the first signs of kidney damage—through protein in their urine—and was developed in conjunction with Kidney Health Australia.

Sarah Pizzey, General Manager, Merchandise & Marketing at Sigma Healthcare congratulated the entire team that worked on the program for the award.

“This award illustrates the positive impact which the Kidney Health Assessment program has had in the community,” she said.

“This program is helping Australians at risk of kidney disease to properly manage the problem with the assistance of their health professional. It is this positive front-line community response which makes pharmacies so effective in the community.”

Amcal was also nominated for the Marketing Innovation Award for its Amcal Heart Health Assessment.
