Nurses, midwives smash prescribing ‘glass ceiling’


Increasing medicines access will help relieve pressure on GPs and hospitals, say pharmacists Health minister Mark Butler has announced what he called a “historic” change in Medicare’s 40th year: the ability for nurse practitioners and endorsed midwives to autonomously provide a range of Medicare services. They will also be able to prescribe certain PBS medicines
