The Emergency Locum Service is set to transition to a new provider from 1 July 2021
The Pharmacy Programs Administrator (PPA) has advised that following a competitive tender process, the PPA has signed a Service Agreement with Raven’s Recruitment to deliver and operate the Emergency Locum Service (ELS) from 1 July 2021.
The ELS provides support to community pharmacies in rural and remote areas via direct access to pharmacist locums in emergency situations.
Under this Services Agreement, Raven’s Recruitment will be responsible for receiving and assessing applications, making locum placements and reimbursing locum travel expenses, following the transition of these services from the current provider, LocumCo.
The PPA and Raven’s Recruitment said in a statement that they are committed to a seamless transition and excellent service delivery.
Applications for locums via the ELS should continue to be submitted to LocumCo up to and including 30 June 2021, with applications submitted from 1 July 2021 submitted to Raven’s Recruitment.
Raven’s Recruitment says it is currently in the process of developing a program website and other supporting materials, information about where these can be found will be provided prior to 1 July 2021.
PPA said it would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the outgoing service provider, LocumCo, for their outstanding efforts over the years, and thank it for its services.
