New insomnia resource

A new course examines the issue of insomnia

Guild Learning and Development is partnering with MSD in an online course titled Belsomra® (suvorexant): A different way to manage insomnia.

This course explores the role of Belsomra® (suvorexant) in treating insomnia, including the clinical findings on sleep onset, sleep maintenance and total sleep time.

This course will also assist pharmacists to identify the safety considerations for patients prescribed Belsomra® (suvorexant) as well as the key counselling points that should be provided.

This activity has been accredited for 0.75 hours of Group 1 CPD (or 0.75 CPD credits), suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD plan, which can be converted to 0.75 hours of Group 2 CPD (or 1.5 CPD credits) upon successful completion of relevant assessment activities.

Surveys have shown that 13-33% of the adult population in Australia have regular difficulty either getting to sleep or staying asleep.1

Insufficient sleep and sleep disorders can affect a person’s health and wellbeing and have broader social consequences.

To enrol in this course pharmacists can visit www.myCPD.org.au; or can contact Guild Learning and Development on 03 9810 9930 or email learninganddevelopment@guild.org.au for more information.

The Guild Pharmacy Academy has thanked MSD Australia Pty Ltd for their financial support and input of expertise in the development of this course.
