This week we saw an early Budget handed down, with some goodies for pharmacy included
The April 2 Federal Budget included boosts to the AHI fee, CSO payments, DAAs and medication management; the Pharmacy Guild welcomed the “confirmation that the Budget will provide $245 million over five years from 2018-19 to improve consumer access to medicines and support community pharmacies”. There was good news for pharmacies and other small businesses, while the PSA encouraged the Government to invest funds from its projected surplus into pharmacists’ role in health. We also rounded up pharmacy stakeholders’ reaction to the Federal Budget.
We looked at why pharmacists and doctors divert drugs or supply them for non-medical use; at the My Chemist Group owners’ growth in personal wealth; and saw SafeScript rolled out Victoria-wide as the ACT’s real-time monitoring system came on board… but what about other jurisdictions?
And what do pharmacy leaders hope for in the 7CPA? We found out here.
