A tale of inspiration

Anna Meares OAM endured a terrible cycling-related injury in 2008 – yet went on to become the first Australian athlete ever to win four individual medals at four consecutive Olympic Games

Anna has collected 18 gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze medals at Olympic, World and Commonwealth Games level.

Anna joined AJP host Miranda Deakin at our stage during APP 2021 to share the inspirational story of how she became the most decorated and successful female track cyclist in history – and the role the accident played in her success.
