Charlie Barone has been awarded an honorary life membership award by the Guild for his commitment and dedication to community pharmacy
National President of the Pharmacy Guild, Trent Twomey, made the presentation at the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference (APP2021) on the Gold Coast.
Adjunct Professor Twomey said that since becoming a Guild Member in April 1967, and opening his first pharmacy that year, the community had benefited immensely from the knowledge and personal attributes of Mr Barone.
Mr Barone’s local MP, Chris Bowen, said, “Charlie Barone is an institution in our community”.
“He’s been there for so many in our area and his commitment and service is second to none.
“Congratulations Charlie on your long service award and all you do for Western Sydney.”
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia NSW Branch President David Heffernan said he was very proud and delighted that Charles Barone had been awarded with such an honour.
“It is people like Charles who constantly strive for better and put our members first are so deserving of this title,” he said.
“The Guild congratulates and thanks you, Charlie, on everything you have done to help the communities you have served so tirelessly.
“The value you have bought to community pharmacy especially to your Western Sydney patients cannot be underestimated.”
Mr Heffernan said the Pharmacy Guild was proud to present the award at the APP Members-only breakfast.
“Congratulations Charlie on this well-deserved honour,” he said.
