Close to his heart

Ironman legend Guy Leech came to our APP stage to discuss his Heart 180 project: aiming to improve access to defibrillators, and he wants pharmacy to help him

The sudden death of one of his best friends sent Guy Leech, one of the original legends of Ironman competitions, on a quest to ensure as many other people as possible would have access to a defibrillator when one is needed.

Sudden cardiac death kills 600 Australians of all ages and backgrounds each week, Guy says, and he thinks defibrillators should be as ubiquitous as fire extinguishers.

Listen to the interview to hear about his campaign and how pharmacy can help
