APP2018 set to feature a super-powered lineup of speakers
APP2018 will feature an exciting line-up of over 100 international and Australian speakers across four days of education, a trade exhibition with over 450 stands and a jam-packed social agenda. Some of the big name presenters of APP2018 include:
Joe Moose (US) – Innovation in Health Care Delivery Trailblazer
Joe Moose is a clinical pharmacist and co-owner of several pharmacies in North Carolina (NC), where he has established collaborative practice agreements with local physician’s offices to integrate community pharmacists into a patient-centered medical home. Joe is Lead Community Pharmacy Coordinator for Community Care of NC, and in this role has built a network of over 200 high quality community pharmacies that strive to offer enhanced value to payors. Joe will present the Allen Russell Oration: ‘Enhanced Service Networks for pharmacy – lessons from the USA’ on Thursday 3 May.
Ita Buttrose AO OBE – Businesswomen, Best-selling Author and Community & Welfare Contributor
Ita Buttrose has a long and distinguished career in the Australian media, with roles including founding editor of Cleo, youngest ever editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly, and first female director of News Ltd Australia. Ita’s charitable positions include National Ambassador of Alzheimer’s Australia, Patron of the Macular Disease Foundation, Emeritus Professor of Arthritis Australia and Ambassador for Breast Cancer Network Australia. Ita will present ‘Fighting Alzheimer’s Disease- how pharmacy can help’ on Friday 4 May.
Allan Pease- Body Language Expert
Known worldwide as “Mr Body Language, Allan Pease researches and studies the psychology of selling, relationships and human communication. Allan has addressed audiences in over 70 countries, and his programs are used by businesses and governments to teach powerful relationship skills. Allan is one of the world’s most successful non-fiction authors, and his books have been translated into 54 languages and sold over 27,000,000 copies. Allan will present ‘It’s not what you say…’ on Friday 4 May.
Donnie Calhoun (US) – CEO the American College of Apothecaries
Donnie Calhoun has over 25 years of experience in independent community pharmacy. From 2012 to 2013 he was President of the National Community Pharmacy Association (NCPA) and is currently President of the NCPA Community Pharmacy Foundation Board of Directors. Donnie also sits on the national board of directors for Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company and is Executive Director of the Specialty Sterile Pharmaceutical Society. Donnie will present ‘Starting a clinical consulting practice in your pharmacy’ on Saturday 5 May.
Due to the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, for one year only, APP will be held slightly later in the year, from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 May, at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
