Goondiwindi pharmacist Emma Conway is TerryWhite Chemmart’s Pharmacist of the Year for 2021

Ms Conway started at TerryWhite Chemmart Goondiwindi in Queensland as an intern in 2018.

“I am beyond thrilled to be recognised alongside so many amazing pharmacists,” she said on accepting the award alongside her mentor, TWC Goondiwindi pharmacy owner Lucy Walker.

“I am lucky to work for such a progressive and innovative pharmacy team which allows me to explore new and creative ways to engage our community.

“Thank you to TerryWhite Chemmart and my peers for the acknowledgement.”

Terry and Rhonda White announced Ms Conway’s win during a live cross from the virtual stage of TerryWhite Chemmart’s Masterclass event on Saturday afternoon.

“Rhonda and myself are truly honoured to be awarding Emma with the Pharmacist of the Year for 2021,” Mr White said.

“Emma is a recognisable force in her Gundy community – always putting the needs of her customer and community first which was very much on display during the peak of Covid when she provided regular and vital information through their pharmacy social channels.”

TerryWhite Chemmart CEO Duncan Phillips said Ms Conway Emma is a “pillar of her community” and is a driving force when it comes to raising awareness for health conditions with her patients.

“One of Emma’s most successful campaigns was her event with TradeMutt which helped promote discussion around mental health,” he said.

“More recently Emma bravely shaved her head raising $18,000 for Cancer Research as part of the World’s Greatest Shave.

“There is nothing Emma wouldn’t do to support her community and I am incredibly thrilled she is our 2021 Pharmacist of the Year,” said Mr Phillips.

As winner of the TerryWhite Chemmart Pharmacist of the Year Award, Ms Conway receives funding towards furthering her education.
