API unveils new WA distribution centre

Australian Pharmaceutical Industries, parent company of Priceline Pharmacy, has opened the doors of its new distribution centre in Western Australia

The facility measures four times the size of its previous distribution centre.

API says the strong above market growth in WA was behind the decision to expand the facilities on the West Coast, enabling it to offer a higher standard of operations and service more retail lines.

“Investing in our new distribution centre in Perth signifies our confidence in the strength of the Western Australian market,” says Richard Vincent, CEO – API.

“This will result in more timely and efficient stock management for our independent pharmacy customers, as well as our Priceline and Priceline Pharmacy stores.”

Located in Forrestfield, Perth WA, the project was two years in the making and during its first full day of operations 117,000 units were picked and delivered to WA customers, demonstrating the significant capacity of the new facility.

“We focused on improving technology, developing a smarter layout and ensuring better accuracy, to deliver a space which will cater for our growing customer demand,” Mr Vincent says.
