Armed man attacks Craigie pharmacy

Pharmacy assistant threatened in armed robbery at Perth suburb pharmacy on Friday

Police say a man entered the Community Chemist at Craigie Plaza on Eddystone Avenue at about 12.30pm on Friday armed with a firearm, another man is believed to have been waiting outside.

CCV footage shows the man walking to the counter, calmly removing the gun and pointing it at the assistant behind the counter.

The man threatened her and demanded cash and prescription medication before fleeing.

“I just heard something and Bec yelled out to me to call the police,” said Nora, one of the pharmacists on duty.

“He asked for Serepax first, then morphine,” she said.

She said there was only three staff in the pharmacy at the time and all were badly shaken and upset.

Police say both men were seen running from the scene. Witnesses say they may have seen one of the men in the area before.

Anyone who may have seen the pair is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at
