Bryan Hann from Castletown Chemist has been chosen to represent Western Australia at the national finals of the 2016 Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award.
This year the Pharmacy Guild of Australia/GuildSuper Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award is celebrating its tenth year of recognising the best pharmacy assistants in Australia.
“The PATY Award was created to recognise pharmacy assistants who not only go the extra mile to help their customers but are also proactive in developing their careers,” says Pharmacy Guild of Australia training manager and national PATY judge Deborah Scholz.
“In doing so, they encourage others to strive for success and actively contribute to the community pharmacy industry.”
Hann was chosen from 15 other state finalists at a state workshop where each participant had the chance to demonstrate their pharmacy knowledge and showcase their skills in customer service and leadership.
“Each candidate displayed a strong commitment to their work and the industry, which was a pleasure to see – it was a hard talk to pick just one, but Bryan really shone,” Scholz says.
Hann says he was delighted to be selected.
“Everyone in the workshop was fantastic, and I’m so grateful to be involved, and have this fantastic opportunity to learn from the best,” he says.
