The Chemist Warehouse Group has aligned with Bod Australia to manage dispensing of cannabis in the chain’s 450 stores

Bod is a provider of MediCabilis, a proprietary, pharmaceutical grade cannabis extract (ECs315) in oil form.

It is available under the TGA’s Authorised Prescriber and Special Access Scheme Category B.

This product will be available for dispensing in Chemist Warehouse Group pharmacies, and Bod says it has already received a number of prescriptions for the product to date.

Bod Australia says it will also initiate a comprehensive training program for pharmacists within the Chemist Warehouse Group.

The program is expected to educate participants on all aspects of dispensing MediCabilis to eligible patients, as well as the potential benefits of medicinal cannabis and changes to the regulatory landscape.

“This is an exceptional development for Bod Australia, ” Bod Australia CEO Jo Patterson said.

“Chemist Warehouse Group is widely recognised as a market leader in the pharmacy sector and we are pleased to have aligned with them to dispense our cannabis products.

“We also look forward to progressing our education initiatives with the Chemist Warehouse Group to ensure medicinal cannabis is prescribed and used responsibly and efficiently.

“Bod will continue to target additional pharmacy groups and potential distribution partners to drive product uptake. Board and management look forward to updating shareholders as these agreements progress.”
