Ego shines in Export Awards

Ego Pharmaceuticals managing director Alan Oppenheim and Scientific and Operations Director Dr Jane Oppenheim have been presented the Australian Exporter of the Year award for Health and Biotechnology.

The Awards measure businesses against their peers based on the strength of their international growth, marketing strategies and financial management.

At the 54th Australian Export Awards ceremony, held at the Royal International Convention Centre Brisbane with over 500 guests attending, Ego accepted its win from the Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investments, Keith Pitt.

Steven Ciobo, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment was also in attendance on the night, with the event hosted by James O’Loghlin.

Ego was one of 12 national category winners, including Envato, recognised as Australia’s Australian Exporter of the Year for 2016.

The 54th Australian Export Awards were also co-presented by Austrade, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and CPA Australia.

Ego Pharmaceuticals, manufactures all products in Braeside, Melbourne and exports to 27 countries across the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe.

In 2015–16 Ego increased export sales by 31 per cent on the previous year, entered South Korea and the Maldives, and launched online stores on the biggest three e-commerce platforms in China (Tmall, and, providing the company with distribution direct to consumers in China.
