Pharmacist and member for Dobell Emma McBride is urging Australians to ensure their vaccinations are up to date
Ms McBride visited Blooms the Chemist Wyong on the weekend to have her flu vaccination.
“Thanks to Mitch at Blooms the Chemist Wyong my flu shot is up to date and I’m protected against influenza A and B,” Ms McBride wrote on Facebook.
She stressed the importance of vaccination, against flu and other infectious diseases, in local paper the Lakes Mail during last week’s World Immunization Week.
“Immunisation is critical to ensure our community is safe from measles, mumps, rubella, shingles and whooping cough,” Ms McBride told the Mail.
“This is particularly important for children and older people, whose immune systems are more vulnerable and less able to fight disease.
“This is an important public safety initiative and I encourage everyone to check their vaccinations are up to date.”
