Former Coles GM to head up Chemmart

Duncan Phillips, new ED at Chemmart

A former Coles general manager has been appointed as executive director of Chemmart.

Duncan Phillips will lead Chemmart bringing with him his extensive Australian and overseas retail experience.

Phillips joined Coles as general manager following the Wesfarmers’ acquisition, and spearheaded retail improvements to the supermarket chain.

EBOS group general manager of retail services Andrew Vidler says he is confident Chemmart customers will benefit from the appointment.

“Duncan’s ability to create and implement customer centric solutions that drive real results will be invaluable to the Chemmart brand moving forward. This is particularly important given Chemmart’s focus on wellbeing and service initiatives,” says Vidler.

“His understanding of the retail environment is second to none, and he has a proven track record of building and leading high performing teams.

Vidler stressed Phillips’ knowledge of retailing will dovetail into Chemmart’s knowledge of the pharmacy market.

“The Chemmart team knows pharmacy inside out and Duncan’s experience, and the insight he can provide into sophisticated chain store retailing complements that.

“We are excited about the future of Chemmart. Under Duncan’s watch the brand is in proven and capable hands,” says Vidler.

Phillips will commence in the role on September 1.
