The Pharmacy Guild of Australia has congratulated the CEO of Pharmaceutical Defence Limited (PDL), Marie Ritchie, on her distinguished service to the community pharmacy sector, and wishes her well in her retirement.
After 22 years of service, Ritchie this week announced her retirement as CEO and Company Secretary of PDL and the Australian Pharmaceutical Publishing Company (publisher of AJP), with effect from the end of 2016.
The National President of the Pharmacy Guild, George Tambassis, thanked Marie Ritchie for her contribution to community pharmacy and to Guild Members over many years.
“Under Marie Ritchie, PDL has provided the best value Professional Liabilities Insurance cover in Australia which includes everything in the scope of pharmacy,” Tambassis says.
“As a leading entity in the sector, PDL has always stepped up to show support in real terms for a wide range of pharmacist activities, including many Guild events and awards, and this has been facilitated through the guidance and dedication of CEO Marie Ritchie.
“She understands community pharmacy exceptionally well, and her role in steering PDL, with Chair Dean Schulze, has been very much appreciated by the Guild,” Tambassis says.
“We look forward to continuing our close and productive working relationship with PDL through new CEO David Brown.”
