Samford TerryWhite Chemmart has again hosted its local Health Expo, which has now grown to more than 100 stands
Then the Samford Chemmart, in 2016 the pharmacy took out the Community Engagement Award as a finalist in Pharmacy of the Year – with the Expo cited as an example of how the store had positioned itself in the heart of the community.
The Expo began four years ago as 15 stalls in the local school hall, but when held again last Saturday it comprised more than 100 stands and exhibits.
Owner Karen Brown, who also recently took out the title of TerryWhite Chemmart 2018 Pharmacist of the Year, brought together a range of health and lifestyle providers, to give the Samford community an opportunity to share experiences and learn about new health initiatives.
“It is a fantastic event that brings the local businesses and sports and support groups of Samford together to promote the health & wellbeing of the community,” says Ms Brown.
“Hundreds of people attended throughout the day and experienced the selection of stands and healthy food trucks along with amazing demonstrations including those from local fitness groups.”
TerryWhite CEO Anthony White said Ms Brown’s commitment to the Samford community was both innovative and deserving of recognition and applause.
“Karen understands what her local community needs and she has opened the doors of TerryWhite Chemmart to the entire community to generate discussion on ways people can improve their wellbeing and lead healthy and active lifestyles,” says Mr White.
