The Pharmacy Board has launched a survey investigating the pharmacy internship experience

It has announced that the large-scale survey, involving pharmacy interns and preceptors across Australia, is now open.

The Pharmacy Internship Experience Survey (PIES) is aimed at giving interns and preceptors the chance to give feedback on their own experiences, so that the Board can continue to improve the supervised practice process for future interns and preceptors.

“PIES builds on the Board’s 2017 pilot study which surveyed a select group of interns and preceptors and investigated issues relevant to the quality of the intern training experience,” says the Pharmacy Board.

“The pilot and its rollout to the large-scale survey are part of the Board’s goal to continuously improve the training experience for interns, to better prepare the pharmacy workforce to provide safe services to the public.”

Recent interns and preceptors should have received an invitation from the Board by email.

The Board says the survey should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete and asks those invited to take the time to share their experiences.

More information is available from the Internships page on the Pharmacy Board of Australia website.
