The Australian Pharmacy Council has elected a Chair and Deputy Chair
Associate Professor Sue Kirsa has been re-elected as Chair for a further two-year term, the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) has announced, and Professor Sarah Roberts-Thomson has been elected as Deputy Chair.
The decision was made at a board meeting held by the APC this month.
A/Prof Kirsa is the Director of Pharmacy at Monash Health and Adjunct Associate Professor at Monash University’s Centre for Medication Use and Safety, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Prior to her current role, she was the Director of Pharmacy at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre for 10 years, and is a former president of the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia.
A/Prof Kirsa has been Chair of APC since 2018 and on the Board since 2016.
Professor Roberts-Thomson has been an APC Director since February 2018 and is also a member of the APC Examination Committee. She is the Head of the School of Pharmacy at the University of Queensland, previously having been Associate Dean (Academic) for the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Queensland.
The Board thanked Professor Iqbal Ramzan for his service as Deputy Chair for the past two-and-a-half years.
Professor Ramzan remains on the Board of APC as a director and member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Monitoring Committee.
