Well-known clinical pharmacist Debbie Rigby is among those staffing the specialist sports pharmacy at the Commonwealth Games village on the Gold Coast.

With the 2018 Commonwealth Games now underway, Debbie said the pharmacy staff are ready for the next three weeks of serving the needs of elite athletes.

“We are open from 7am to 11pm every day from the 25th of March till the 16th of April,” she told AJP.

“We’re situated in the Polyclinic in the Commonwealth Games Village with other medical practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals such as physios, massage therapists, optometrists, paramedics, exercise physiologists and dentists”.

Debbie says the pharmacy only provides medications included on the pharmacy list and the minor ailments scheme, and is free of charge to accredited athletes and team officials residing in the Village.
