The rural Queensland pharmacy was also the recipient of the Community Engagement award.

In accepting the Community Engagement award, owner Lucy Walker said she hoped to “bring a bit of country to APP” and discussed the health challenges faced by rural and regional people.

She said that the local community is very supportive of the pharmacy, with local leaders using it for vaccinations and the like.

“Being a rural pharmacist is an awesome career,” she said, highlighting the pharmacy’s role as a health hub for the region. She also encouraged female pharmacists to consider ownership and join the Guild.

Ms Walker also paid tribute to her team.
