The national winners of the TerryWhite Chemmart 2020 HEART Awards have been announced

The ceremony took place at the final gala event of the state-based ‘Lead Beyond’ conference events, held at The Crown in Perth.

The TerryWhite Chemmart HEART Awards cover recognition across health, customer engagement, service and leadership.

The most prestigious award of the year (the TerryWhite Chemmart Rhonda White Leadership Award) was won by West Australian Brad Smithson.

Mr Smithson has been an owner pharmacist of the TerryWhite Chemmart Chester Pass in Albany for 16 years.

An innovative operator who recently upgraded his pharmacy, Mr Smithson is also an inspiring leader and mentor who recently welcomed Joe Foster and Kellie Powell as joint partners to the Chester Pass business, says the banner group.

In November last year, TerryWhite Chemmart Chester Pass was awarded the Best Business with 11+ employees at the Albany Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

“I am truly humbled to be acknowledged with this award to which I owe to my incredible Chester Pass team,” said Mr Smithson.

“The TWC network is made up of so many inspiring leaders such as my fellow nominees Karen Brown, Jeff Nelson and Irfan Hashmi and to be put in this league is itself humbling. Thank you to Duncan and the whole TerryWhite Chemmart network for this acknowledgement.”

The TerryWhite Chemmart network is proud of Mr Smithson’s achievements, said TWC CEO Duncan Phillips.

“Brad is a man of action who is relentless in his pursuit of excellence while always maintaining a positive workplace culture,” said Mr Phillips.

“His focus on improving collaboration with other health professionals and mentorship to his fellow pharmacists as well as his genuine passion for broadening access to health services for his patients puts him at the forefront of his profession. We couldn’t be more proud to see Brad acknowledged with this award.”

Fellow West Australian Chantelle Skinner from TerryWhite Chemmart Eatonwon the Retail Leadership Award, which recognises the pharmacy team leader who consistently leads their team by example.

The National Pharmacy of the Year award was won by TerryWhite Chemmart Plumpton in NSW for customer service excellence and the Pharmacy Improvement Award was won by the team from TerryWhite Chemmart Bairnsdale in Victoria.
