Eltham pharmacist Michael Williams has taken out the title of fastest pharmacist, winning the Medici Capital Pharmacy Ski Race for 2015.

The annual race was held at Mt Buller this week as part of the Pharmacy Snow Business Conference.

The race saw the fastest pharmacists on snow go head-to-head on a challenging race course in perfect sunny conditions on Skyline run at Mt Buller.

The fastest pharmacist on the day and the winner of the Medici Capital Pharmacy Ski Cup was Michael Williams of Thompson’s Pharmacy Eltham with a time of 28.47 seconds down the course.

Mark Henry of Amcal Pharmacy Mansfield finished second, with Andrew Rewell of Priceline/API rounding out the men’s podium.

This year’s ski race was hotly contested with less than 0.13 seconds separating Williams, Henry and Rewell.

The Henry Family from Amcal Pharmacy Mansfield were very successful on the day with Cathy Henry taking out the Women’s Division and Bridget Henry winning the Junior Division, with the fastest time of the day.

Second and third in the Women’s Division were won by pharmacists Anna Leung (Sydney) and Clare Reid (Hobart).

The ski race was great fun for all involved with Mt Buller and Mother Nature working together to provide perfect racing conditions for the competitors, say organisers.

Frank Sirianni, managing director of Medici Capital, said that, “While many of the competitors were eager to meet the challenge and win the race, the ultimate race is addressing the new frontier of pharmacy management.

“The Medici Capital Snow Business Conference addressed many issues for business management and improvement in the light of the many challenges now facing business owners and managers”.

The Ski Race is held each year as part of the Medici Capital Pharmacy Snow Business Conference.

This year’s conference included a wide variety of presentations on pharmacy business issues with guest presenters and pharmacists from throughout Australia and has been labeled by delegates and organisers as the most successful Pharmacy Snow Business conference to date.
