NAPSA is launching its alumni membership at the Australian Pharmacy Professional (APP) conference this weekend.

The launch of the alumni membership is the first step in establishing a widely awaited network for graduated NAPSA members. The move will provide a vital link for past members to stay involved and updated with the association, and also bring current student members closer to the experience of those who have walked in their shoes.

President Eleanna Ballis says “It’s all about Connecting Tomorrow’s Pharmacist [which is the NAPSA slogan]. We’re thrilled to be able to bridge the gap between past-members and current students with a platform that will deliver opportunities for valuable collaboration”.

“We want to foster the spirit of loyalty and solidarity among members by giving them the opportunity to become members for life!”

Past members are eligible to sign up to the alumni membership for free.

Benefits include:

  •  Staying up to date with NAPSA publications (with access to ePlacebo).
  •  Online access to alumni features of MyNAPSA including forums and events – Invitation to events and functions for alumni members.
  • Gain mentoring and teaching experience by linking with students groups across the country.

Ton Pham, director of external affairs and chair of the current Alumni working group says the association has been working closely with past presidents, national councillors and honorary members to “ensure we get this right”,

“The foundation of support received from even this small group of past-members shows the potential and necessity to harness this type of experience for our members”.

Past NAPSA members can visit the NAPSA stand (295) at APP to sign up to their alumni membership or visit the website at NAPSA.org.au/alumni People who sign up at the conference will also receive a free ‘Alumni Pin’, which will identify them as official members.
