MedAdvisor has partnered with the National Asthma Council Australia to support pharmacists in delivering asthma management

The partnership, which will establish MedAdvisor as National Asthma Council Australia’s preferred partner for pharmacy engagement, will make it easier for pharmacists to access education and resources relating to asthma management.

Education material and resources relating to best-practice asthma management will be made available through MedAdvisor’s PlusOne software, launched this year, which is currently used by over 50% of Australian pharmacies.

Pharmacists will also be able to automatically email customers with how-to videos for using their inhaler correctly. The video will be emailed to a customer after receiving an Inhaler Technique Service at the pharmacy.

“With up to 90% of Australians not using their inhaler correctly and a large variety of inhalers and brands available on the market, these videos will help those living with asthma to remove the confusion around how to properly use their device,” explains MedAdvisor.

Robert Read, MedAdvisor CEO, says the partnership with National Asthma Council Australia will result in more engaged pharmacies and better health outcomes.

“PlusOne allows pharmacies to become more service-driven and improve relationships with customers, and this partnership ultimately means that pharmacists will be better equipped to support customers living with asthma.”

Siobhan Brophy, CEO of National Asthma Council Australia, said “MedAdvisor’s significant reach into community pharmacy will allow us to provide the latest education and practice support to pharmacists to counsel patients with asthma and/or allergic rhinitis.

“Technology in pharmacy has come a long way and we are excited to be partnering with a company that is focused on delivering better health outcomes through innovative digital solutions.”
