APP2021 has secured Austrade grant support that allows delegates and exhibitors to potentially recoup costs
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Queensland Branch, announced this week they have been successful in securing grant support through Austrade for exhibitors and attendees to the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference (APP2021).
The grant is part of a $50M Business Events Grants program launched by the Federal Government to support the post-COVID economic recovery of the business events sector.
In order to be eligible for the funding, delegates and exhibitors must spend a minimum of $20K to get as much as 50% returned to them.
Kos Sclavos, APP Convenor and former Guild national president, has welcomed the funding and encouraged those interested in accessing the grant to act quickly, review their costs and complete the online submission.
“This is a great initiative by the Federal Government to encourage more delegates and exhibitors to attend conferences in 2021,” he said.
“As the funding comes from a national pool and it’s a first in, best dressed scenario, we encourage anyone interested in accessing this grant to do so now so they don’t miss out.
Mr. Sclavos also said that whilst there are still trade exhibition stands available for the conference, they are selling fast.
“Despite the challenges COVID-19 has thrown at travel, we’ve already had numerous trade bookings from various sectors including pharmaceuticals, health and technology. We have also had a number of delegates from all states already sign up to attend the conference.”

APP2021 will be run as a COVID Safe Event. The Guild is currently in the process of finalising their COVID Safe Event Plan, which will be submitted to the Queensland Government Public Health Unit for approval.
APP2021 is Australia’s largest pharmacy conference and trade show and takes place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on 20-23 May 2021.
