The Pharmacy Guild’s Queensland Branch has been named as a recipient under the Queensland Government’s Advancing Women in Business Initiative

The initiative aims to provide female pharmacists, interns, pharmacy students and pharmacy staff with support, education and resources to enable more women to start and grow their own businesses and attain positions of leadership.

As part of the initiative, the Guild will conduct four face to face education and networking sessions throughout regional and metropolitan areas of Queensland.

Queensland Guild Branch Committee Member Amanda Seeto said the sessions will provide expert advice on the steps needed to purchase a pharmacy, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities by showcasing successful women in community pharmacy.

“Industry expert Felicity Crimston of Pitcher Pharmacy will deliver the education component and Queensland Guild Branch Committee Members Cate Whalan, Lucy Walker, Fiona Watson and myself will outline our own journeys into pharmacy ownership and leadership,” Ms Seeto said.

“Felicity has over ten years of experience in financial and management accounting. She has a wealth of knowledge in pharmacy business. Whether you’re new to the industry, or an experienced owner, Felicity will provide best practice advice relevant to all attendees.

“These events are a fantastic opportunity to meet with like-minded women to further enhance your own network.”

The sessions will be held on the 25th March in Townsville, 1st April in Toowoomba, 8th April in Brisbane and 15th April on the Gold Coast.
