Tambassis re-elected

National President of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, George Tambassis, has been re-elected to the position for a further three years

Mr Tambassis, a Victorian community pharmacist for over 25 years, first became National President in 2013 and has now been re-elected unopposed.

“My aim is to work diligently and effectively for all our members and the profession as a whole,” says Mr Tambassis on his re-election.

“My new National Council members and I will endeavour to advocate on behalf of members, with our highest priority being the sustainability and success of community pharmacies as essential and valuable components of our wider health system.

“My time at the Guild has been and will continue to be a time to work for our trusted profession as the most accessible and most visited primary health care destination for the Australian community who benefit from our expertise in medicines.”

This has been a great week for Mr Tambassis, who was also recognised with a Monash University Distinguished Alumni Award on Thursday.

“George exemplifies the leadership and innovation traits we value in our alumni,” said Professor Bill Charman, Dean of Monash University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
