Samford Chemmart Pharmacy has organised its fourth Samford Health and Wellbeing Expo in a row, featuring more than 60 stalls

Samford Chemmart, which won the Community Engagement award in the 2016 Pharmacy of the Year awards, created the Expo in 2014 as a way of showcasing local health care and wellbeing providers.

“The local pharmacy should be the hub of the community,” says owner Karen Brown.

“I feel great pride when customers say how much they appreciate the extra effort we go to in the community and how much our activities enhance their health and wellbeing.”

She told the AJP that the relationships formed with fellow health professionals and support groups is instrumental in the pharmacy’s success and its place in the community.

The expo included advice and information from pharmacists, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, dieticians, community support groups, diabetes educators, sporting groups and more.

“The Expo is about the community coming together and showcasing all things health and wellbeing,” says Ms Brown.

“It is great to see people talking health, being active, laughing and learning!

“All things our pharmacy strives to achieve every day when we help our customers.”
