Primary care after-hours: NT focus

Primary care needs after-hours in the NT will be the focus of two round table events for pharmacists, pharmacy managers, GPs and GP practice managers.

Hosted by the Northern Territory PHN’s After Hours Primary Health Care program team and facilitated by Dr Bernie Westley. The discussions will take place this month in Darwin and Alice Springs.

The key program objectives for after-hours primary healthcare are to:

  • increase the efficiency and effectiveness of after-hours primary healthcare for patients, particularly those with limited access to health services; and
  • improve access to after-hours primary healthcare through effective planning, coordination and support for population-based, after-hours primary healthcare.

Darwin: 20 January 2016, CareFlight Hangar, Darwin Airport.

Alice Springs: 27 January 2016, Royal Flying Doctor Service Hangar, Alice Springs Airport.
